We got a tip that someone was keeping endangered wild animals as pets this week. Together with the forestry department(BKSDA) and other NGOs, Scorpion and SOCP, we went to rescue them.
It was shocking to discover that the pet owner had 4 slow lorises and two river otters kept as pets! The conditions of all these animals was appalling and they were all malnourished.
After confiscating the animals, two of them were sent to SOCP while the other two slow lorises have now come to ISCP’s temporary rehabilitation centre.
Help us save Indonesia’s endangered wildlife!
Funds are urgently needed to create a permanent rehabilitation centre. Donations can be made via our fundraiser at GlobalGiving.
